## Why nets, and why this charity

We picked the charity the same way we read a label: by what is published and checkable. The Against Malaria Foundation has survived years of [GiveWell's](https://www.givewell.org/charities/amf) cost-effectiveness analysis to stay on a top-charity list that almost nothing stays on, and it publishes distribution reports naming where every net went, with photographs of them hanging over beds.

It is also the closest thing in the world to what we actually do. A net is not a lotion: one is mesh over a bed, the other is chemistry on skin. But they answer the same question, which is how do you get through tonight without being bitten. We are not planting trees or sponsoring a stadium. We are buying more of the exact outcome this company was built to sell.
